Are Foods Labeled “For Kids” Healthy?
Monday, January 9th, 2012Read the Labels! I just keep teaching that to my family. So then what did I do? I took my two of my grandchildren shopping and purchased their favorite food without reading the label. Before I started to cook a meal of fish sticks, salad, home-made Mac & Cheese; I decided to read the fish stick label. I could not fix them after I read their label.
Among other unhealthy things in the ingredient list I found TBHQ! That is lighter fluid. It is used as a preservative. The FDA allows it to be used sparingly. We have not served fish sticks for several years. After reading the label I realized why that item is off our food list.
